Samsung introduced the Sprint PCS Vision Phone A640, offering consumers several key visual enhancements and personalization features such as an illuminated backlit external display and three user changeable interfaces including a new black and white menu. "Samsung is committed to designing phones that are both functional and fashionable. Our phones will truly enhance the mobile lifestyle of users," said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president for Samsung.
"With the introduction of the A640 by Samsung, consumers will have the ability to customize their own visual interface as well as access a host of exciting service applications."
The unique backlit exterior display of the A640 by Samsung is the first sign that this is a dynamic phone. But the benefits of the A640 go well beyond handsome design - the A640 offers Bluetooth™ technology, Sprint PCS Ready Link push-to-talk service and a VGA camera with digital zoom and self timer.
Wireless Backup provides A640 users with secure storage and quick retrieval of contact information in case the device is ever lost, stolen or damaged. In addition, the A640 provides the choice of three user interface options, including a new, easy-to-use black and white menu for optimal usability.
The A640 by Samsung is available through all Sprint retail channels at a price of $199.99 or $49.99 with a two-year contract.
