The SCH-V960 Samsung mobile phone promises to
deliver a whole new mobile experience to its users.
Samsung believes that with the launch of the world's
first mobile phone with an optical joystick, users
will be forced to change the way they interact
with their handsets.
Samsung's latest optical joystick phone, the SCH-V960 will allow its users to use the optical joystick by placing their finger and moving a cursor to navigate through the menu. This is very similar to the way a cursor on a PC is moved with the help of a mouse.
The optical sensors that have been incorporated in the Samsung SCH-V960 will read and react to the finger movements of users. This helps to break down the conventional four-way menu navigation and also provides 360 degrees of freedom.
While using the Samsung SCH-V960 mobile phone, all the user has to do is point the cursor and click directly on icons on MyScreen, which is an interface that is very similar to that on a PC. Then the user will gain access to frequently used menus like the photo album, music menu and messaging. Besides, users can also use the optical joystick of the SCH-V960 to easily scroll through the play list even while listening to music.
The Samsung SCH-V960 mobile phone includes a ‘Smart Lighting' feature through an illumination sensor. The Smart Lighting feature automatically controls the brightness of the LCD screen and keypad. Thus, users are protected from eye strain. The Smart Lighting feature also minimizes power consumption for increased efficiency of the mobile phone.
Other brilliant features of the Samsung SCH-V960 mobile phone include a 2 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth and GPS functionality.
Speaking at the launch of the Samsung SCH-V960 mobile phones, Kitae Lee, President of Samsung's Telecommunication and Network Business , said, “ As the importance of user-friendly interface increases, Samsung is researching and developing methods that enhances intuitive use of mobile phones. Samsung will continue to combine innovative idea and the latest technology that will benefit our end users.”
